Vision

Monday, September 25, 2006

So. As some of you know, the trip to DR was totally wicked.
God had His hand in everything we did there. The team was:

dad hull
ana hull
me hull
alan daniels
ryan daniels
megan daniels
jon daniels
j-rad remington
meg remington
mert gordon
steve rieter
frank mccracken
al vamsoy
shelly vamsoy
wilge
(will-hey) bustillos

God couldn't have chosen a better team.

But anywayz, we flew into Santo Domingo, and our busdriver, Hector, drove us to La Vega, where we spent the night at a christian confrence center. From there we drove 2 hours to Bonou and up a mountain road all the way to the church picture below (sorry, i don't have pics yet. there on jon's computer). The pastor there, Dionecio, arranged for us to stay at a rented house near the church. From tuesday till saturday we worked on the roof of that church. You see, Dionecio had a vision a several years ago to build a church with a textile mill (to assemble clothing to export to the us)on the second floor, to provide imcome for the community. And my dad along with Pastor Frank have brought many teams down there to help finish the church (which we did two years ago). This years project: start the second floor.
___So we spent all week working with the Dominicans mixing cement, laying block, and doing whatever else we could do to help. God really made an impact in that mountain.
___I think the highlight of the whole trip was when split into groups of 4 or 5 with the Dominicans and went from hut to hut, just sharing Christ's love with the people there, even though we couldn't verbaly understand eachother. Many of the people we met came to the worship/prayer service that night.

there was much more, but my fingers are tired...

i like the library. it's quiet.

ana has a horse riding lesson so i opted to be dropped of in potsdam.
one birtch beer from the bagelry,
one stop at the bank to get money,
one short description essay about Harriet Tubman, and
one more hour to blow until mom decides to pick me up

I walked into the library to be greeted by a little Ludlam boy who exclaimed,
"hey, i know you!" yup.

that and school kinda makes up my day today. pretty intresting, huh?

oh yeah! one more week until we leave for the Republico Dominicana.
pray that he will put up with me :)
