It's pretty amazing what you'll find under someone else's refrigerator.
You would find things like ancient Christmas decorations, honey comb cereal, bottle caps of every size imaginable, half chewed cat toys, marbles, and of course... the whole history of kitchen sweepings.

That was the highlight of my afternoon while painting next door at the apartments.
Pretty interesting, huh?

We (her, her, and me) just got back from an excellent concert by the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, featuring Jeremy Denk. Though the concert started off a little rough, it was definitely worth going. When I say "a little rough" I'm referring to the fire alarms going off an instant before the downbeat, complete with strobes and a recording asking us to calmly leave the building.
_______That's one way to get a concert hall full of people to stand in the rain for a half hour.

So anyway... I haven't been to our church "CFC" in two weeks. One week we attended a friends church in Syracuse, and the other week we were in the process of driving home from WI. My absence has really shown me the importantance of church. Also how crucial to a healthy Christian life, learning and fellowship really is.

I think I might start posting more often. Well, maybe not as often as her,

quick

Friday, November 24, 2006

ok, just a quick post.

We are at the Browns! ... that in itself is worth posting about.

It's great to be able to celebrate thankgiving with such awesome friends.
Actually tonight we celebrated Wesley's and Esther's birthdays, which just meant more food!
I'm sorry I can't type more; I'm holding my roomates (aka wesley calvin and jason) from their beauty sleep.

Well, as they say... A picture's worth a thousand words. So this post is pushin' 2050 ;)
Oh yeah, if you want more info on the trip, you can go to my mom'sblog.

life is simply complicated

Thursday, November 09, 2006

In our daily devotions we are currently reading the story of Joseph. One of my favorites.

Even though sometimes I think my life feels like a rollercoaster,
it's nothing compared to what Joseph went through:
-sold into slavery by his brothers
-thrown into prison for only doing what was right
-forgotten by the cupbearer only to stay in prison for 3 more years

But even in his situation... He still trusted in the LORD and was trusted by people.
And in the end he was raised up to second in command over all Egypt and God
used him to save many peoples' lives.

I want to be like Joseph, fully dependent on God and willing to face trials to become
what He wants me to be. And not just to help myself, But to help other people...
