"The Horn Guy"

Tuesday, January 30, 2007

We were sitting in Snell theater, listening to the Rondo alla Turka "turkish march" by Mozart, played by William Kanengiser. About half way through the piece, Ana started giggling. And I, being the "personwhocantstandotherpeoplemakingnoiseduringconcerts" type, nudged her and told her to be quiet.
__As we found out at intermission, the song reminded her of this \/ man.

I must say it was a very good concert

$100 in Quarters

Tuesday, January 09, 2007

__Just as I was depositing a check at the bank today, I noticed a very old "grandpa" looking man make his was up to the counter. His cracked voice sounded excited when he said to the teller, "I'dd like to exchange my quarters." As he said this, he set a P&C bag full of coins on the counter. "Do you know how much you have?" the lady asked.
__He quickly answered,"One hundred dollars." So the lady took a $100 bill and was about to hand it to him, when the man refused and said, "No, in quarters please." An older teller (who apparently had helped him before) interrupted and said to just give him one hundred dollars in quarters, "because he collects certain ones." He just smiled and nodded his head. On our way home, I saw him slowly walking down the road...with a very big day ahead of him.

We played Upwards tonight.
2 1/2 hours is
definitely to much time to spend on a board game
